About the Vehicle

The project is comprosed of a 22-foot plug-in hybrid electric fuel cell transit vehicle. The vehicle will be fueled with hydrogen generated, stored, and dispensed onsite. Th e vehicle features the following characteristics:

  • Propulsion - Self-contained
  • Fuel - Hydrogen created by clean electrolysis
  • Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) features - Enhanced accessibility and ride comfort
  • Emissions - Zero emission bus exceeds 2010 U.S. EPA standard
  • Cost - Less than 5 times that of a diesel transit bus
  • Reliability Goal - Greater than 90% availability
  • Fuel Efficiency - Twice that of a comparable diesel transit bus
