About the Vehicle
The project is comprosed of a 22-foot plug-in hybrid electric fuel cell transit vehicle. The vehicle will be fueled with hydrogen generated, stored, and dispensed onsite. Th e vehicle features the following characteristics:
- Propulsion - Self-contained
- Fuel - Hydrogen created by clean electrolysis
- Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) features - Enhanced accessibility and ride comfort
- Emissions - Zero emission bus exceeds 2010 U.S. EPA standard
- Cost - Less than 5 times that of a diesel transit bus
- Reliability Goal - Greater than 90% availability
- Fuel Efficiency - Twice that of a comparable diesel transit bus
